End of Saturday Edit

We’ve been editing today for 7 hours, which adds up to a total of 14 hours editing time…. so a lot of time basically! We’ve come to the end of the day now and we (Michael and Phil) are very happy with how it has gone. We have finished the whole drama and are going to listen through it again tomorrow with a fresh mind to pick up any amendments that need to be made. It’s important to step back from the drama for a while then come back to it as you we will notice things that perhaps we won’t at the moment.

It’s a long process but completely worth it when you listen to back and enjoy what you have produced. We want to make sure that we not only do justice to the actors who have given up their time for free, but also other production members who have spent a lot of time and effort on the project.

So that’s it for another day. Not long now till the final piece will be posted here on the blog for all to listen to.

In the Edit

It’s Saturday 19th February and Michael and I have just started a long day in the edit. So far we’re up to 7 minutes and 15 seconds and are just over half way. We will more than likely be here for quite some time!

We’re happy with how it is sounding at the moment. Michael has managed to successfully edit some of our actors voices so they sound like they’re either recorded on a dictaphone, having a phone call and more importantly in a taxi. These are just some of the effects that we are having to create in order to portray realistic location settings.

I asked Michael what his thoughts were about today:

Michael: “I genuinely believe they sound as if they are talking from where we want them to be“, he continues, “I’m optimistic that we can get it finished, or almost finished, at the end of the day“.

We will keep you updated as the day progresses with a blog at the end of the day. Thanks for reading and we can’t wait to bring you the final piece.

Another day recording in the studio

Hey, it’s producer Phil Krstic

here again for another project update….

Today saw the production team of PPRD Productions recording some of the final scenes for our radio drama ‘Saving the World – One Fare at a Time’.

Yet again we were all really impressed with the fine talent of our actors. A special thanks to James, Ben and Jay – not forgetting Tony from last week too. Your co-operation has been brilliant and we enjoy working efficiently and professionally to achieve both our goals. I suppose I should also say a massive thank you to parent Fiona for bringing her son on her birthday! A big Happy Birthday to you on behalf of the whole production team.

Today was our second recording session in the radio studio, we have one final session tomorrow for a few minor lines and then it’s full steam ahead with the edit. We will be busy all weekend editing all the audio and making sure it is complied in a way that does the recordings justice.

Keep checking this site for more behind the scenes information, including an interview with our director Michael Passingham. He will be explaining what is behind his vision and how the story came about!
